INDOT Construction Update

Lane Restrictions Planned for S.R. 119 over Yellow Creek on Monday, January 28, 2019
Road will be reduced to single lane traffic controlled by temporary signal

ELKHART COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that traffic will be restricted to one lane on S.R. 119 over Yellow Creek on or after Monday, Jan. 28, weather permitting, to accommodate pipe liner scheduled for installation between C.R. 9 and C.R. 13.

Motorists can expect to see heavy equipment placing a temporary barrier wall, as well as a temporary traffic signal to alternate vehicles over the 12-foot-wide, single-lane road. Be prepared for stopped traffic while the contractor completes the pipe liner installation.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through an active construction zone.

Work on S.R. 119 over Yellow Creek is expected to continue through late February, weather permitting. The contract was awarded to Northern Indiana Construction Co., Inc., for $2.2 million and also includes the rehabilitation of several structures throughout the District.
